Choice (minor) upgrades - warranty impacted ?
Guys
Car goes into Bmsport on Monday for brake change to Pagid R29's. In addition to the brakes, I enquired about other "must do's" - Nigel suggested rear trailing arm bushes, front track control arm bushes and finally alignment which its likely I'll also get done. Couple of q's: 1. Any thoughts on how the above impacts BMW warrranty (looking at some of the previous posts on here re warranty, very little I would hope.) 2. For 70/30 use split between Road and Track (in favour of road), any opinions on other minor upgrades to address weakspots ? Cheers |

RS29 for APs or OEM Brakes?
RTAB are a must for Road/ Track. Best cheapest mod for instant, less tail happy results! |

I wouldnt have thought your warranty would be affected as the parts you are replacing are all wear and tear items anyway which normally wouldn't be covered unless they failed due to a manufacturing fault. However I've never had a BMW warranty so they maybe more anal than others. Be interested to know though.

I'm sure you'd be fine with such minimal mods. BMW warranty attitudes differ dealer to dealer though...

i think its fair to say that bmw dont actively refuse warranty claims in the uk if your mods are not related to the claim and seem to take a sensible approach if your mods are not likely to directly affect the bit that has been proven faulty. At least with the dealers i have dealt with that is the case.
Andys at Murketts doesnt do any more than that and tbf to Andy he just knows about CSLs and what BMW UK seem to allow. I suspect BMW put a few £ away for claims on the CSL as it was their flagship at the time |
