Hi there $w!ft, Alexk and other wan-a-be Supersprint back box owners.

I've had an up data today from Supersprint UK and they have 5 Race "Lightweight" boxes in UK stock, ready to dispatch. Best price (if we pay direct to their Bank account, instead of via Pay Pal is £1173.28, inclusive of VAT and UK mainland postage ( £1198.03 if you pay via Pay Pal) I'm swaying towards this version due to the luck of availability of the "Race" type I originally wanted and shortage of patience on my part . Any takers ?

Yep... it's well priced alright + available for immediate UK dispatch. I'm ready to buy but as yet NO one has given me a definitive answer with regards to noise limits/levels which still concern me. I wish there was someone running the same set up us me and could tell me what dB reading they had on the last Track Day. I know Rob has the Race "lightweight" on his CSL but the rest of his exhaust is O.E. stock. By the time I get a Supersprint back box I'll be running a full Supersprint set up. In all seriousness, what exhaust components are U running on yours Shimmy ? and what dB numbers have U been recording ?

not sure how serious i can be but mine si stil stock but Race SS ready to go on.

Woppum has run the full SS race exhaust for a few years and only Bedford has occassionally chucked him off It passes 101 static easily but can be on the limit on the 87.5db at 20m drive by. But that is LOW

I appreciate that Shimmy ... but as I feared all along, Bedford is going to be a No! No! Shame as I'm planing a visit on the 30th of Jan. for a mates Birthday bash. Maybe I should be more patient and wait till the end of February for the Race version to arrive which should pose none of the noise issues of the lightweight type.

Matt - just go to other track days besides Bedford - Simples!

AlexGTT has standard cats, SS centre section and race lightweight backbox and passes ok at track days - except Bedford

Bloody Hell whats all the fuss about

Mine has the SS race lightweight back box, 100 cell race cats, and the rest is miltek ( one bit from my race car ) so its pretty much a full mix after market race system

Had varying db readings ever since, depends on day, weather, circuits, tester and testing equipment, your never gonna buy a system or back box and say its 95 and its 95 forever more

Mine has read between 95 and 101 and is never the same from one to the other, so moral of the story is ...

If you want one buy one, and dont worry too much as you'll be fine with just the Box, be careful at bedford, and go to all the other many tracks that you will be OK, if your not tracking heavily, then you have no issue... !!

If I didn't have heavy Tracking plans for 2010 I wouldn't mention it at all... but I do, and don't fancy being turned away from numerous TDs like Bedford (closest to me) or Castle Combe (which is quite strict about noise levels too) and lose the money paid for TD + fuel money & time. I've failed @ CC before in my Porker 928 @ 124 dB (must be a record) and had to beg & borrow a standard back box, off a m8's 928. Best part of the morning wasted faffing about swapping back boxes in the car park, only to scrape through the noise levels @ 98 dB and then another few hours wasted swapping everything back to as it was, at the end of a long day. That, in a few words is what all the fuss is about

Relax your body, take deep breaths, grow some balls and just buy the fucking thing, you ripped me for being indecisive.

Get it bought, glendog has been fine with his.
