Default damm it....

Just to let you know what small problem happend, nothing critical, but not funny...

2 day's ago I went for a ride with a few friend to compare my Csl with a M3 E46 368hp modified, E39 M5 442hp modified and two RS6 480hp sedan and estate.... some motorway test, fastroad test and countryside road test...

When night came down, my Electro-Chrom self dimming mirror gave me the impression to be a "little foggy", I would see cars behind, but not clearly, I tought I was tired and that my eyes were playing with myself so I got back home. Parking the car in my garage, I still had the impression to have this none clear view in the mirror, and got to bed without pushing on investigation.
2 day's past without going to the garage and this morning got back to it... and still the same, not clear, still this foggy impression there... and just at the bottom of the mirror, below the small sensor, like a little drop of water still there... so I took the car out of the garage to daylight and what a suprise.....

all the plastics around the SMG shifter were like melted, paint gone, the leather around it damaged and ash tray damaged too.... I could not believe it first, looking around everwhere for anything else, according that I never, eat, drink, smoke, or have any perfumes units, even looking around glovebox for any wife perfumes of whatever... Nothing.....

so I came back to this small drop haggins to the mirror, and after looking for informations, theses Electro-Chrom self dimming mirror have a small amount of liquid as "phosphorus" in the autofocus cristal clear sensors..... and it's bloody corrosive.

For an unknowed reason, my is broken inside the mirror...

Made a jump to my Bmw dealer, they never had the problem, and they won't take it under bmw warranty. So my mirror is dead, as the set of plastics around the shifter and leather, ash tray too, the carbonfiber as a few spots of acid, but with polish managed to save it....

gladd to have the seats of carpet untouched, because, the batch of parts ordered come up to 480£ for a mirror, a piece of leather and 3 plastic parts...

the good new is that my Csl busted all these cars on all test drives... but that's not a low cost test drive...
