Default Vredestein Tyres

Anyone tried the Vredestein Ultrac Sessentas yet?

I had them on my last car and they were great all-round, year round tyres (although classed as summer tyres).

They are cheap and have a great looking tread but wear well. Grip is the only thing I didn't test out as much as I would have liked, so wondered if anyone has tried them on a CSL?

They seem to make the right sizes... for anyone who doesn't know what they are, they are a Dutch company whose tyres seem to do very well in all independent tests against the big boys. One test came out as below:

  • 1st Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta
  • 2nd Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric
  • 3rd Pirelli P Zero Nero
  • 3rd Continental Sport Contact 3
  • 5th Michelin Pilot Sport 2
  • 6th Dunlop SP Sportmaxx
  • 7th Hankook Ventus S1 Evo
  • 8th Toyo Proxes T1 R

Those test results seem to speak for themselves...unless the test was for how black the tyres were !.
Are they easily found (i always spell scourced wrong) in the UK Sien? what sort of prices are they?

I'm surprised to see TOYO T1-R so low down the scale ??? They must work better on front wheel drive cars. NICE to see the GOODYEAR Eagle F1 Asimetrico second from the top as there is a fairly fresh set currently fitted to (hopefully soon to be) my CSL

Can't remember where it was actually (I copied that from a random tyre site earlier)... didn't they do it in EVO or Topgear magazine?

Anyhoo, http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Tyre/Vr...c-Sessanta.htm

Everyone's different, but they seem to be on par with the goodyears in general, and at least I know how these react.

Surprised nobody has got any?! They are quite common replacement for the runflats on the E90 range. Only issue is that 'sometimes' they can be a bit hard to find, but I think that was a dry spell they were going through a while ago. Quite a few companies carry them now and growing.

http://www.elitedirect.com/Tyres/tyr...h+Database+%3E

Elite do them, but not as cheap as Falkens

Falken £115/138, Vredestein £126/155 so about £110 more. If your gonna buy slippery hard tyres you might as well buy cheapest ones you can, or get yourself a 320d as your loosing all the traction that you paid the big bucks for,,,,,,,

Strange, I always thought the grip was OK (these would be all year round tyres btw so comparing them to Falken/Goodyear). Would love to get a set of cups for summer though.
