Yeah, its a great car, apples and oranges of course. Drove back to Derby from collecting her up Friday morning, picked up the missus and my two collies then headed over to Anglesey for the weekend, managed 20ish mpg all weekend and never needed to touch the special M button

Excellent, glad you are happy. I signed on the dotted line on Sunday, the cars in for prep and I can't wait! It was all as you said and it drove great. Well happy! Only concern is how noisy the exhaust is going to be on my motorway commute... but I can wait and see.

Did you take the fun route to Anglesey or the dog / other half friendly route? Also did it rain and blow a gail - it always appears to on Anglesey, we go over to Ty Croes every July for a weekend of racing with a group of friends - always chuffing freezing!

I'm currently pondering over whether to have gap insurance... never even considered it in the past but they argue it's such a rare car it will be under valued by any insurance assessors should it be written off or stolen... anyone got any experience thoughts on that one?

Yeh it was me who relieved radders of them, must admit it does sound sweet coupled with my titanium rear section

Congrats on your new car

I have the full Milltek and a 4.10 diff and i find that aslong as i keep the revs above 3000rpm the drone is gone and at motorway cruising speeds on a stock diff in 6th your over that so no problem.

Congratulations Tex, gotta say I’ve still got mixed emotions about letting her go, but hey-ho, I can still get another in a couple of years.

I took the missus friendly route I’m afraid, A50 > M6 > A55, still a pleasant drive nonetheless and good for the mpg. I was hoping to get across to Snowdonia but we ended up exploring most of Anglesey for the weekend.

The doggies loved daddies new car

I think with the CSL it's probably worth having GAP / RTI cover, most underwriters won't understand the true value of them and I suspect would lump them in with a standard e46 M3 when settling a claim. I took cover out with Sytner's for the M5, £400 for 4 years which seems to be quite reasonable.

Well, i pick her up tomorrow and I am more than a little bit excited!

Remains to be seen what my "better half thinks". I've not quire fully described the csl... it'll be fine .

I'll be happy no matter what and I'm now planning a test route for tomorrow on the way home from Sytner through the back lanes of North Leicestershire and South Derbyshire.

Nice dogs... my family had a border collie when i was growing up... completely mad!

Hi, yep that was me... and yes I had the window down and the sport button pressed, one day I'll grow up. Perhaps. Still loving it - a really great car.

How is the M5, still enjoying it?
