CSL trying Mallory Park
Was invited by a few friends from my bad old days with R5 GTT's to their National Day at Mallory Park.
It was a good cheap day, £45 open pitlane all day! Bargin. Was plenty of traffic about but was good fun, if a little small to stretch the CSL legs! Couple of my mates in the RTOC have M3's and one of them took this video with "added quotes". Quite funny, thought it would be appreciated here. F**king have 'em all.

Alex
I didn't know you were an old 5 GT Turbo boy?????? I was heavily involved in the owners club back in the day and was the events co-ordinator for a while. I had a red phase 1 then a 5 with a 4x4 Cosworth engine and running gear in. They were the days |

Yes my brother has a Twin Engined R5 Turbo. He could not make the weekend which was a shame.

We used to camp at Santa Pod on the old Fast car UFC weekends.
Back in the day when a low 15 sec quarter was deemed quick for a 5 lol... |

That Videos too funny. I was cracking up sitting here, nice one.
Was that an M5 that went by with the comment about the Coupe? Bealo, I bet that single window wiper conversion made some difference on the straights, eh? Last edited by sailorbaz; 20-08-2009 at 09:51 PM. |

Bealo! Amazing. What a small World. Indeed I well remember your car and what a sad ending it had! That was an awesome build. Think I still have the magazine feature on it. Was it in Fast Car, before it became a soft porn mag?
I bought my first 5GTT 2 years old in 1993 and was in the club from 1996! Yes, I remember Santa Pod National Days and attending UFC. Awesome memories. Still have a totally mint ph1 electric blue GTT stored in my barn. Wife wouldn't let me sell it because she says we have way to many memories and good times in it! Haven't driven it for years but I still have plenty of mates from back in the good old days of the RTOC or Renault 5 GT Turbo Owners Club as it was then. LOL at quick 14-15 sec 1/4 mile and 13 sec was for the elite! Do you remember GT Tunings "13 second club polo shirts"? The fastest 5 GTT (std 1.4 C1J lump) 1/4 mile is now 11.15 @128mph believe it or not.
