Default Had a play on track

Basically the local Subaru club had organised a track day / sprint type of thing at Ingliston for the weekend.
I had booked my place and paid for it while in possesion of my 22B so it seemed a shame to let the space go to waste.

Took the CSL down instead just to have a wee play around as it's been about 6 years since i have driven a RWD car in anger.

£uck me these things are fun

Got most entertaining car of the day

Roll on my next day which is down at Croft so i can have a serious go

Looks like good craic had by all.

Although, that stone dyke looks a bit hard for me, don't know if I'd take my chances with it!

Ahh that was ok. That is actualy a 1st gear 180deg hairpin thats set up so there was very little speed involved at that point.

Had a bit of a moment though involving 2 flag poles and a couple of electrical junction boxes basically decided that id try and take this certin 90deg corner in 2nd rather than 1st so entry speed was a little quicker and resulted in some interesting manoeuvres

It was a brilliant day, totally relaxed and had the weather too

Car now up on axle stands to have the brakes and wheels cleaned properly.

The track was ok but not really suited to the CSL. Highest gear was 3rd and that was only for about 3 seconds down the back straight. The car was never really out of 1st / 2nd gear.

It also had quite alot of pot holes so you were always watching for them and being a little cautious that you didn't fall into one while doing a little sideways action.

The Subarus were doing pretty well time wise but i had a bigger grin on my face and had the most requests for passenger rides through out the day

I had a similar experience on my last track day at Croft. The only CSL there and everyone wanted to come for a pax ride. Never managed a solo lap all day!
