You're right, apologies, I didn't get my point across as effectively as I could of. I was, or should of been, expressing concern with the difficulties in finding someone to sell me a car. You're def right that there is a huge demand for these cars. I just wonder whether this demand is from those who actually want a car to drive or an investment... Suppose it doesn't matter to sellers as they get too dollars for a great car.

CSL makes a great daily. I have taken the BMW over a manual car if I thought the traffic would be bad. Waste of talent, but I'll take easy.

To answer the question about buying a car as an investment. I was 50/50 when I bought mine. Prices were on the up and there was nowhere else to put your money. After over a thousand miles in the car you can prise it out of my cold dead hands. If I could have one car, this would be it

No probs , and I do take your point too. I think CSLs are definitely being marketed by the specialist dealers more towards investors than drivers now, as the blurb nearly always talks about the potential for growth in value. Such is the sad part of this current market

Even the latest car mag Modern Classics is full of "investment opportunities" in their articles

I have to agree.

Nothing comes close to the csl in the same price bracket.....but this is quickly vanishing as the CSL marches ever closer toward GT3 values.

a good GT3 is getting on for another £20K on top though

As I've mentioned before, I'm thinking of getting another aircooled Porsche to go alongside my others but I will need to sell the CSL , but for £40K or less I'm struggling to find anything I'd want. In the current market the CSL is well priced.

Of course I'm now in the situation of thinking if I sell now , will I kick myself next year if prices are firmer again ?

While I'm not trying to defend that particular CSL, I am still a proud an owner of a 91K miles CSL that will put other cars (CSLs included) half it's mileage to shame, on condition & provenance in equal measure... and if you don't believe me, just ask the guys @ Bartlett

I'm sorry to say this but this mileage obsession is very childish, an idiotic tool used by lazy car dealers to knock values of good cars to create an easy profit margin and its mentality harlks right back to the bitter days of British Layland were cars literarly exploded as they approched the 100K barrier ... if they actually ever managed to get near that figure

FYI Matt... this is one and the same car that was £39K and now available with DAT "Dealer Added Tax"
