As I said earlier in this thread, many people prefer the Cup1 over cup2 on various type of cars, rwd,awd etc. but some like the Cup2 more too so its a mixed reaction but there is no doubt or mixed comment anyone whom used Trofeo R, everyone says its the quickest and best semi slick you can buy today. Which will be my next set of track tires.

Decided to sell my cup2 today. Never used, going cage and slicks route as didn't fancy being disappointed.

Spoke to Martin today and decided that the next set will be again the original Cup.

For all you non track warriors I'm finding the cup 2s fine on the road. Very very loud on certain roads. All dry miles to date (approx 1100 miles)

Gav looked more out of control on the cup 2, than my e92 did on cup + at the same circuit

I know Gav can drive too, so definitely cup 2 not up to the task.

With very limited experience (& ability!) I'd say they take bit longer to get up to temp, bit more progressive and may be not as quite as grippy. But seemed to last ok and reportedly better in wet but I haven't pushed them in wet as yet. I'd guess they're well ahead of Cup+ though. Be interesting to see same day comparison.

A friend has also now tested them and his views are they are good for a very limited window (like the Toyo R888s), in that they go off very quickly. Once they get too hot, grip is much reduced (as per Gav's vid). They don't come back again until allowed to cool off. So although they may be a better road tyre than the original Cups, they are a much worse track tyre.
