Would anyone happen to know the paint code for the grey trim above the airbag/horn?? Wanting to remove and re paint due to scratches and a little wear.

I don't think we know the official OEM code, but some of us have come up with some close matches. See here.

Pradip gave me a contact down here in StAlbans and they were spot on, colour matched and resprayed.

IF you need the contact Pm me and ill look it out.

It is easy to remove wheel and send it in.

Cheers Shimmy, seems a simple job if I can get the paint somewhere near.

I wouldn't paint it yourself, unless you have a proper oven and gun. You also have to get the clear coat gloss level right, as explained in link I posted. For the paint color, looks like you have 3 options, Shimmy's Mix, Toms mix (see post from NZ_M3), or what I used, which was standard BMW Seibring Grey 229, which I believe to be OEM, though not confirmed.

Stripping the paint off is easy, just fine wet dry in soapy water.

Mine has been repainted and I'm happy with colour match. Will be a lot more durable too as I applied more satin lacquer than the factory (if they used any at all) as this doesn't seem to hold up on OE pieces allowing the paint to defect easily.
