Yep the magical 2 seconds, doesn't matter about the price tag the standard m3
Simply doesn't cut it when you have driven both on track.

The Csl does it with ease, makes you look good, even with a stripped out m3 it hasn't got it.

I now really appreciate how good the Csl is. F1 teams would pay a fortune to save 2 seconds per lap.

Will do donny and Bedford after Adem and I fit new bits and square set up so same as Csl, then ponder on a 4.1 diff.

Dragged the CSL out of the lock up today then took it for a 5hr run around Royal Deeside......God its a great car, having been driving the track M3 around its amazing the feeling the CSL gives back. Remember mine is still running standard suspension etc and yet still its amazing.

Derek,
Having studied the data from KH I'm about 1.5sec a lap slower with the red car (at the moment). Think I just need to learn how to drive a car with an adjustable set up.
Let me know the next outing and I will try and make it along with the car.

Main difference is csl was 7 mph faster on main straight. Car much the same through twisties on the vbox file. Using the same tyres that I set the time last Aug in csl, they are now past there best. It's just a fun car that I don't need to worry about, I even let Mark drive car on track.

if its a car you dont need to worry aboout you should be 5% closer to the edge and not 2 secs away from a CSL time.

What does it weigh Derek?

Hi car weighs 1485kg with full tank and me. Had to fit bigger exhaust as too noisy should be around 1500kg. This is the first outing with m3 and tyres are past there best. I expect improvement in my times as I get used to car. Car was overheating a bit after 6-10 laps so will get that fixed out before next track day.

Replaced thermostat and ready to replace fan. For the oil diverter valve do I need to remove alternator, airbox to access the housing to fit the valve. Just looking for easiest way to fit valve.
