Default Excellent N24 Docu-film on CSL team

As per title. I came across this yesterday and just finished watching it. I never watch motorsport so for those that also do not and are fans of the Nurburgring it is well worth watching. Along with that it features a race team running with M3 CSLs.

Two of the engines blow with the female driver who is a bit of a babe - Chantell Kroll. What I cannot make out is (excuse my ignorance) they appear to be M3 CSLs but seem to have manual and electric/paddle shift as well as an oil dipstick. They also only have a double exhaust not a quad and no massive air intake on the front bumper.

It is good to see they run AP Racing brakes with the grooved discs.

I would love to get the dipstick modification particularly as you cannot get an electronic reading when driving on track. Surely a major fault for a track come road car - ???

If any budding experts are able to explain the gaps in my knowledge it would be much appreciated. Is it a GTR?

Once I'd gotten over the ear bashing for the sound track coming at me thorough my sound Bar.
I noticed 'shimmy' sitting in on the per-practice briefing (top Left of the screen) must have been suffer shell shock, from the ear bashing!
Poor 'Chantell' I bet daddy Kroll had a few choice words when they got home!

Looks as though there is one twin exhaust which would suggest a modded 320.

Great video telling it like it is, not much glamor just; hard graft, dedication and commitment.
Just the mention of the 'Ring' sets tickers pounding and fills most people with a certain amount of fear and trepidation, imagine how that must be amplified at night?
Not one for the faint hearted - nighttime is for bobos, me thinks!

Probably lapse of concentration, day dreaming approaching the end and didn't notice the Porsche slowing.

I like 38:40 where the M3 gets pushed off at Hatzenbach by a Porsche for not moving out of the way quick enough. It makes Touristfahrt look tame.

Modded 320i because of the exhaust?

Yes, that's right, they took a 320, kept the exhaust then dropped in an M3 engine, SMG gearbox, subframe, diff, axles, electrics etc until the only thing left was the exhaust

Or more logically they changed the exhaust on their M3s They were entered as CSLs but without seeing the chassis number it is difficult to tell if they are officially CSLs or not.

One thing you really notice is how amazingly slow the gear shifts are compared to a proper race box, really shocked me not having been in an e46 with SMG for some time now.
