Rear Seat Creaks / Rattles
I've noticed since my subframe has been done that my rear seats are creaking like a bastid!
Anyone got any good fixes for this? I might have to pull the whole rear interior out on the weekend (if the weather picks up), as it's starting to grate me now! It wasn't that creaky before it went in for subframe fix, so a bit weird. Any ideas?! |

Felt between the 2 60/40 rear sections. Mine used to do it too, shows how much the chassis flexes!

Yeah, mine had some there from the off but squeek on mine was from that vertical split, from memory it wasn't sat right or had fallen off or something.

Ok lads mine was the same after some investigation her is the fix
There is a bracket at the bottom of the 2 rear seats where they meet it is bolted to the floor with 4 12mm bolts they need adjusting first Put the 2 seat backs down and in the middle remove the T25 bolt then the cover over the seat fittings can be removed. Now remove the 2 seat backs they lift from the middle and they slide out at the other side its like a pin in a hole. Now loosen the 4 bolts but just enough that the can move now fit the small seat back in and move the bracket so the seat sits level at the to and tighten the bottom 2 bolts so it does not move. Now fit the other seat back and see how the gap is between the seats It should just have a small gap best to have the boot open to see this and they should be level across the top. Once you have done this and they are sitting nice remove the seat backs and tighten all the bolts. Now its the release part in the boot when the backs are up if they can move easy when pushed from the inside at the top they are not tight enough. pull the handle and drop the seat and under the rear deck where the back hits the top there are 2 bolts for each catch you have to loosen then just a little and move then towards the back of the car to make them tighter but not soo tight you have to pull the handle hard to open them. Hope this helps This is how the gap should look Last edited by Mark CSL; 27-03-2013 at 01:04 AM. |
