Michelin Sport Cup wear - advice
Hi there
as new to the CSL world and to the Cup tyres, I need some advice on the wear on these tyres. Next week I am booked for the track day at Silverstone (Easter monday) with some of you guys and I am not sure what to do with my tyres. Last saturday i did half day track at Bedford and the tyres now look with very tired.... when I bought the car in Feb they look almost new (I think I have done less than 1000 miles and 1 half day track day). I found it difficult to judge the amount of thread left but they don't look in good state do you think it would be dangerous using the same set in Silverstone next monday? what about if it rains? I will try to take a picture of the tyres so you can better assess their condition cheers |

Yeah get some pics up. Watch pressures going for 32 hot. Depends on driving but should get a few days plus some road mileage.

So knows?
I've only run Cups on all of my trackdays and if it rains heavy I'll go for a coffee and come out when all standing water is gone. Don't forget Cups don't like standing water but if you can get heat in them they do grip very well even if track is wet. However it has to be said Silverstone can be particularly slippy in the wet especially after a dry spell and all theat rubber is caked on the track. (pauses while 10 CSL drivers don their incontinent pants)

They have resurfaced Luffield and that seems to stay slippery for a long time

Yep Grant and myself ran cups and Derek ran slicks in the afternoon when a dry line started to show through.
