car is now fully stripped, from petrol tank to engine

oil starvation on bends, shot big end bearing on number 1.
Crankshaft getting machined now. I was hoping it would polish out but it was 2000 under minimum. Its all getting taken down to minus 20.
New high pressure oil pump ordered, new oil pick up going in.
Cam OK, valves OK.
Carb fully stripped and getting put back with new seals and pipes to stop the carb blocking, fuel lines and filters were all OK.
Fingers crossed putting it all back this weekend with the trusty Haynes manual (I kid you not)
new discs order after doing them in, they were brand new and didn't last the day

Have you baffled the oil sump? Usually cures oil surge in the bends, if not, I highly recommend it.

Tbh I am slightly surprised you were going fast enough to push the oil to one side of the engine

yes baffled sump mate
the oil pick up was modified, looked like an RS pick up, we think it must be that as it was only on corners, all baffles good and in the right places. Changing oil pump just in case but the pump would either work or not ??

very funny Shim it was a bit hairy in the morning while my man sobered up... 50psi fronts, 20 psi rears, full soft wet setting, it was like on ice
needed Curly to push me to get a bit of confidence back
