Default Dashboard Lights

My car has been sitting up for about a month or so in the garage. Went to start it today & a number of lights stayed lit(DSC,SMG,Tyre Pressure & Handbrake)

I then plugged in my scan tool to read the code & it looks like its the steering angle sensor. Does anyone have an idea how much this will cost and is there much work involved to replace it?

Also my battery is shagged so I will be replacing that as well

You didnt disconnect anything like the throttle potentiometer or anything did you???

No, didn't disconnect anything. My battery went dead & after I jump started it the lights lit up. I tried clearing the codes but with no luck

Hi,

Try Disconnecting the Battery and
leaving the car to stand for 20/30 mins
then re-connect.

Then fire it up.

Sometimes it works.

Regards,

The Gorilla.

Or just re-initialise the steering angle sensor.

We fitted a set of discs and pads to a 3 series. On removing it off ramp these lights stayed one, same fault code as yours.

I just re-initialised the steering angle sensor on our comp and it was perffect.

Ok, il try them first. What did you re-initialised it with. A GT1 or other diagnostic software?

Just re read op as I skim read previously.

Get your battery sorted first.

Battery losing voltage can cause steering sensor on occasion to lose calibration.
