275 rears? now updated and sorted!
Hi, question for the gurus
I have stanard wheels and the previous owner has wanged 275's on the back. I've had the car checked over because the back end felt loose, the garage says the suspension components are tip top. Thinking it was RATB's I ordered a limiter kit too. The garage has installed the kit and the backend feels tighter, but it still doesn't feel 100%. My question is do 275 give that loose feeling when drive like you've stolen it Last edited by toplad; 24-03-2011 at 11:21 PM. |

I had Sessantas on my old M3 and found them OK, but not as good as PS2s.
Depending on what you're used to, you might find the CSL does feel a bit skittish on bumpy roads as the basic setup is pretty stiff.

I’ve just been out 'testing' the car and it feels a lot better with the limiter kit and alignment sorted, but I’m going to get the garage to put some M3 wheels on with 265 rears and see if I can notice any difference. I don't find the car to stiff, it's more like, the backend not feeling planted during high speed cornering and traction could be better I still have a massive grin on my chops after smoking the CSL round on empty fast roads for the last 25 minutes, mpg gauge now shows 11 mpg , first proper test and it’s the snizzle, well impressed I'm now officially CSL crazy Last edited by toplad; 24-03-2011 at 12:16 AM. |

I had 275s on the rear with 245s on the front (GY F1 Assy all round) and got a puncture so replaced rears with 265s (same tyres) and it definitely felt better although I suppose as much down to new rubber as anything? The 275s still had 4-5mm so not overly worn...
Just my experience! |
