The legality thing is questionable really.

I know people have been prosecuted for 'pure' laser jammers, and for garage door openers when they don't actually have a garage.

I've yet to hear about a case where someone with a parking sensor has been charged and then fought it in court.

The fact that the specific laser frequency is free to use, and the item genuinely performs another function suggests to my (non-legal) brain that a decent lawyer would be able to fight it.

If I'm free I can give you a hand mate. Even if I'm not, I can give you my mobile number so you can ring me for advice on any issues you have whilst you're doing it.

Other possiblitiy is to run without a front number plate. This will only protect you from camera vans, but not the cops with a handheld speed gun, since he will read your rear plate as you pass and get his mate on the motorbike to chase you down. The really important bit is to have a brand new plate in the boot of the car so that the day you do get stopped, you can tell them that your Mrs. bought the plate yesterday after she noticed the front plate was missing and you got home so late last night that you didn't get time to fit it.....I'll be fitting it today officer. It may be a year or more until you eventually get stopped.

The camera van men just go through all the photos at the end of the day and then pop them in the post to claim the fine - if they can't read the plate properly (or at all), they just bin them - not worth following it up for a £60 fine.

Yep, agreed!

The best idea I had was to use the old number plate that was on the front of the car (full size), rough it up a little bit on the tarmac and stick some stones to the back of it, then happily run without it and if/when you do get stopped it's a case of 'sorry, it has just fallen off, I managed to retrieve it look, but will get it sorted ASAP'!

Or you could change a couple of the digits..then a least you've got a plate on the front most coppers would not notice that as they they read the rear one if following ..

Then if you get pulled...sorry officer I didnt notice that I will get it sort stright away!!!!
