Is this easy to do?

Do you get the induction roar all the way though the range of you remove the flap?

5 minute job, although BMSport did it. Its slightly noisier, but barely enough to tell the difference.

Removal process:

Remove the motor which turns the flap - take out the three allen bolts which hold it on and pull it off (needs a good firm pull to get it off)
The flap is then free to turn on it's own.
Tilt the flap and remove it by taking out the three allen bolts which hold it onto it's spindle.
Put the motor back on.

Don't start the car with the motor detacted or it gets out of sync with the spindle.
And don't drop the bolts like I did.

I had my flap removed at Simpson Motorsport yesterday. They said they've done it for a fair few owners. I watched Joe the mechanic do it (in case i wanted to re-fit it) and it's a real doddle - even for me!

Yeah... as I said earlier the hardest part is not dropping the screws as you remove them. I dropped one and it landed in an awkward place on the alternator - took about 45 minutes to extract
