Default Removing Airbag Light?

Been on for a little while now & is starting to annoy me. Recaros replaced OEM seats and seat belt receptors are still fitted but due to the passenger cushion sensor pad not being in the aftermarket seats there is an unplugged wire, which would normally plug into the OEM passenger seat.

Whats the best option, without loosing the function of the passenger Airbag?

If I am to ignore the light, will the Airbag still deploy or Im guessing I'll need to close the circuit using something like a 2-4 ohms resistor, then get airbag light reset. Where can I get?

Why not buy the occupancy sensor mat separately and plug one in and put it in the seat? Part Num. 65776921952 (or you can try and rip the one out of the stock seat cushion (it's glued into the foam however)

Otherwise I do believe the resistor trick works too - 2 to 2.5ohm and have the airbag light reset.

I've also been told that the GT1 can turn the passenger airbag off independently.

Cheers Tom, I did consider a new seat pad without ripping the glued OEM one out but its not necessary if I can just use a resistor. So looks as if I need to find someone who will make me one up, or if I can find the right components I can solder myself.

My doubt was if I was to ignore/ get the light taken off, would the passenger Airbag still deploy?

I have a brand new occupancy sensor still in the box from BMW if you like. Make me an offer. No use as I have taken all my airbags out! haha

If the light is on I don't believe the passenger airbag will deploy.

Thought id finish off what I started, giving an update for anyone else in the future. It may be of some use.

It seemed wise for me to install an OEM occupancy sensor as I had one in the OEM CSL passenger seat that wasn't being used and is the correct way rather than tricking the system using a resistor. Otherwise this will also cause the passenger airbag to deploy regardless of someone sitting in the seat, if triggered.

First of all I removed the Occupancy sensor from the OEM passenger seat. Its slightly held down with a little glue, removes no problem.

I fabricated a new clip to allow you to attach the box to the underside of the seat without the risk of disturbing the OEM glued clip, then applied a layer of double sided tape.

I Placed the Occupancy sensor pad in position. I chose mounting it to the base of the seat rather than inside the cushion as there are 2 smaller cushions compared to the 1 OEM CSL base cushion, resulting in it not to fit. This also allows the anti-sub straps to enter between the 2 cushions, allowing you to remove either cushion in the normal way without dismantling the Occupancy sensor.

I then decided to drill a hole through the base of the seat to match the OEM CSL Seat allowing you to place the wire through, making the wire hidden behind the cushion. Placed tape both sides to stop the material grabbing or paint on the underside chipping. A few strips of velcro (hooked side) were then used to secure the sensor pad down to the seat material.

This left sticking the black box to the underside of the seat, attaching the connections and reseting the Airbag light. Job Done.
