they only have about 4mm on to start tho Dan so you'll be fine
I think the MLR have tyre support at spa aswell, so you can get some new rubber if you need too |

What's the panic about Cups wearing out? Mine last very well and wear evenly despite running a minimum of -2 degrees. Set up is critical. Get that right and they wear beautifully.
Been over to Ring with 2mm (and less ) many times and get back on them fine.
