Is it not an issue running a lower load rating than standard? IE 91 vs 95? this has put me off buying some tyres in the past.

interestingly OEM Michelin Cups for the CSL are 87Y and 89Y !

I've done several Ring trips running solely on PS2 mate and they do very well there - remember it is just a big 'fast road' circuit after all with plenty of straight sections, and not as demanding on tyres as UK short tracks tend to be.

I tend to shove the Cups on the back seat and run out there on PS2s, fitting the Cups once out there. That way i have the best of both worlds and retain the PS2s should the weather turn shite

If you just have the one set of wheels, i would fit the Cups to them as May - Oct are generally good months for PSC at the Ring

dont listen to the old woman - run on Cups all summer, no need for PS2. Cups ARE TYRES and need to be used

True, I'm not worried about the Ring killing them, if anything it would be Spa but seeing as I've never been there before I won't be going mental out on track that's for sure!

Seeing how Terry's GT3 was in the wet at Brands with R888's I'm wondering whether I just chuck the Cups on now and leave them on there!?

I use Cups when on track, its just handy to save on uneccessary Cup tyre wear by using PS2s for the journey whilst having them as an option if it turns wet. A journey to the Ring and back is almost 1500 miles for me - not including any track miles whilst out there...

With a professional race driver and instructor at the helm of course...

Every situation is different of course, but i don't leave Cups fitted all year as it's predominantly wet where i live down here in West Cornwall and i really don't see the need to have 'Ultra High Performance' Cup tyres fitted for my 3 mile drive to work or the odd run to Tesco and back when not at track days...!

If i drove the 1500 mile round trip to the Ring and back only to have a sodden weekend of teetering around the track on Cup tyres at only two thirds my normal pace, then i'd be pretty fooked off!

I didn't know who it was driving it to be honest, don't you know I'm a professional! (at something!?)

I'm not lucky enough to have 2 set's of wheels yet!

I currently have Falkens on, they seem OK for the money I guess, cant fault them other than that they are hard.
