Just so we are clear over this, the supply of your exhaust was not something we had any interest in, indeed Evolve set a price, that was a good price so I left it (despite being the supposed sole site sponsor here so Evolve got buisness without contributing as we do). However that not the point the deal was done, it was a good deal for the members here so I left it.

Independantly from that we have been having a long conversation (dating back to early Jan at Autosport) in the ECP wanted to sell the manifiold and we said we would do it if we could sort the right terms. We were at the end of this negotiation when this happened. When I heard I said to Christian (who was handling the negotiation on our behalf) that I had no interest in dealing with a supplier who competed with its own retailers (in this case Evolve) and that we should pull out, which we did. ECP came back saying the price sorted was 'unauthorised' and it wouldnt happen again. That was currently how we left it, I was told you got your exhaust which was fair enough and I wasn't about to spend the time sorting a GB for the forum here when someone had already approached Evolve so I left it.

If they supplied you an exhaust for a cheap price (lets be clear here, the price you paid is actually less than I pay as a retailer!) so you should get your exhaust, which is a point I will make to ECP on Tuesday (I'm off Monday).

My plan on Tuesday is to speak to ECP to find out what happened and resolve it so everyone can get a good deal or walk away.

As regards your comment on 'keeping quiet', well I'll reserve my comment until after I've spoken to ECP, if the price was dodgy then you may have just got lucky which is fair enough, if ECP pricing model is sell below what they sell to retailers at then also fair enough but it means retailers like us will refuse to supply it, will refuse to work with it and develop other tuning around it and frandkly will refuse to offer advice about its use.

Lets see what they say on Tuesday, my hope is that they are willing to sort a deal for everyone.

No idea mate, as I said this is the first I've heard of it, I dont understand the term 'unauthorised' which is my main concern. RRP is fine as its just recommended, but if the distie is selling at less than we pay as a retailer then we might as well not sell it.

Frustrating thing for me generally is that I spend about 4hrs a day on the phone/on forums giving advice and a high proportion of that information is just taken and people then go and buy from the cheapest place they can - human nature I guess. For example, I'm pretty sure the guy at ECP wouldnt be able to give advice about O2 sensors when fitting SS exhausts, or the effect on warranty in the case of a map, or what tracks in the UK you'd be OK driving on for noise etc etc. But its the way of the World I guess.

"Price Fixing" is highly illegal as BMW & B.A. (both huge multi-international companies) found out few years ago. Both were sued for "P.F." and lost, big time.

Happens to us all the time John, you do the leg work, work to get a good deal as a retailer only to find the supplier selling for same price to joe public, that they sell to you for, even though you do the leg work, promote item, give advice recommendations and general product support for item

Think they just generally use retailer as a free advert, and free product support, advice line,

Unfortunately John, this is the trouble with the medium of internet, everything becomes transparent.

PS hows the slag coming on,

Hi John,

I think the most challenging thing for a customer when dealing with you is the response times.
Unfortunately, I cannot call everyday to ask for car parts (thus the pms and emails).
It feels bad when no one replies (for 1-2-10 days / other than I will sort this out) and it's coming to a point that I feel that I am begging a company to sell me stuff.

I guess I have to sell the front APs and stick with the OEM ones.
