Hi Shimmy.
I've just bought a set of 4 Genuine BMW M3 18" 9J rears from your mate Mike in Essex to use as my Track wheels. They've been refurbed not too long ago in dark Anthracite and look V. COOL
My question is, what tyre size should I be considering for these... standard size of road tyres is 255/40/18 but they're not available in Track Day tyres sizes so my choice is either 255/35/18 or 265/35/18 (like the ones you're planing to get) Have U checked if fitting 9J 18" with 265/35/18 tyres poses any issues at the front ... rubbing on the front wing on full lock ??? or getting too close to the suspension strut maybe ??? I'm running standard brake callipers, standard rebuild suspension and no spacers.

Cups come in 265/35/18 like the ones i have ordered. You may find other sizes in Yokos, Toyo T888 and Dunloip Direzas to better wuit the 9J but 265 should be ok as it is within tollerance.

I am not sure of the offset on the rear 18 inch M3 rims but my guess is they are about et25.

I would have thought that you should be ok on the front. Should clear the dampers ok as rims is narrower than the CSL rim. Only slight chance that you may fould the arch liner and arch on the front but that will depend on actual offset and your suspension set up (esp camber)

The off set of the BMW M3 18" 9J rears that I have is ET26 and the tyres I'm considering are: TOYO R888 265/35/18 @ £912 all in delivered (not fitted)... TOYO R1R 265/35/18 @ £ 868 all in delivered (not fitted)... or Dunlop DZ03G 265/35/18 @ £1100 (auch!) all in delivered (not fitted). Yokohama A048 in the same size are a whopping £1488 !!! not fitted . To be honest none of these deals are as good a deal that you have with your local tyre place of £800 for the same size set of Cups. Just to double check with U, is that £800 inc. VAT delivery & fitting for 4 X Michelin Pilot CUP 265/35/18 s ? Same tyres as recommended for the M3 CSL, just one wheel size smaller ?
BTW, I found a pix of someone on here who run this set up with Dunlop DZ02Gs in 265/35/18, although I see from the pix this CSL has aftermarket suspension and probably runs RACE cambers + the obvious AP racing anchors, which seem to clear the 18" 9J rears OK

i cant get any more 18 inch deals i am afraid. tried today but they can only do a few every so often for me.

Nords and Curly ran the Dg02 and got good deal as the DG03 were coming out i think. I think they are a pretty good alternative to Cups. T888 are good but maybe lack a bit of longevity when they get off (they go off quicker with our heavy cars). Try Pirelli PZero Corsa Race System (they look like the DG02s (see below)

I was going to say the exact same thing to Matt, just be careful with the Toyo R888's, they don't have a very long operating window if you like and do 'go off' quite quickly with heavier cars!

I've heard of people getting at best 2/3 laps out of them before they are past their best!!

Shame about the 18" Cup deal being so Limited to once in the Blue moon Shim I've always got on very well with Dunlops as a road tyre so I hope their TD tyres are even better, especially if I get a good deal on either the older DZ 02s or the replacement DZ03G. Yes I think it was NORDS who had those Dunlops in the pic I enclosed earlier. I've heard KUMOH V70 TD tyres are meant to be surprisingly good, despite happy shopper price tag of £181 all in, per each 265/35/18"

Are U speaking about the TOYO R888 being less then perfect, from personal experience m8 ?
