I would have thought he is fairly competent, can certainly hustle a car around a track ok!

Don't believe everything you see on TV (the power of creative editing ) It's a myth about Press cars being extra special. Sure, they are exceptionally well looked after and serviced every time they comeback from a loan, but having extra BHP & being specially build for the Press ... that would be faulcifying the truth and neither magazine Editors/Road testers, nor the readers would appreciate that. Usually, Press Cars lead a hard life... the higher the BHP the harder the life. How do I know this... 13 years working in the Motoring Press and numerous Long Term, Press Cars under my belt . Sadly NEVER the M3 CSL Last edited by mattCSLnut; 04-02-2010 at 12:41 AM. |

I would be awesome on an airfield in someone else's car, your right!
What I'm saying mate is he's no mug, he can control a car and has got to be better than the average Joe just due to the fact that he is used to a car stepping/sitting out etc As for Press Car's, I've never known much about them so I'll take your work for it!

I've seen Clarkson's car control first hand - albeit on a beach - and he seemed pretty competent.
http://www.cslregister.com/forum/sho...ghlight=office He also seemed quite a normal, down to earth bloke, unlike the smug pretentious TV image that people tend to have of him! He also likes CSLs which makes him pretty cool of sorts...
