Yep all carried out within the first 12 months (and 18,000 miles) of ownership

The car's used as it's makers intended all road miles (albeit a lot of them very hard ones around Europe)
I think there are good cars and bad ones, I admit I'm a fussy git and take my car in for one thing and "mention" other issues, perhaps my local dealer is short of work so they tend to fix everything under warranty ?
Either way, I don't think I'd have tolerated so many issues on a car without a warranty.

Has anyone on here successfully managed to claim on the rear box bracket ie the piece that holds it to the centre section. The bracket is holding together with its counterpart but there is a cut in oval shaped bracket so it is only a matter of time.

The trouble is because the exhaust end is fluted the bracket cannot be removed and replaced. It would mean that the whole rear box would need to be replaced just because of the bracket. Obviously the exhaust is not covered under warranty.

I just wonder if anyone has managed it on the basis that the part is not made for purpose ie I have only 28,000 miles on the clock. Surely a bracket shoud last longer than that .

I did see a post mentioning sucess on MTorque but assume this was covered under the initial 3 year warranty.

I wish it was but "exhaust components" are excluded under the BMW warranty except for the cataylitic converter.

No they are coverd i just got a new back box for the same thing

Mark, how did you get around the exclusion for exhaust components then? Did the dealer even mention it? Mine came straight back to me ans said "No, it is not covered as it is part of the exhaust system".

Are you sure it was not done as a favour. I am not sure how I should approach the dealer now.

I have the list of what it covers, and actually nowhere does it say 'exhaust'... even under comprehensive (there's obviously 'engine')

I got a new back box and a center section the bracket the same as yours was snaped and the center section was ratteling inside no questions asked
