I would say if one started to play up and all six are original, I'd replace them all.

Sorry old post I know but, Bromers, or any one ever get a solution to this?
Mine does this now has a real flat spot at 2000 rpm when warm and cold no where else and hesitates quite badly from idle up to about 3000rpm when just started and driven off.(ie engine cold) Think I will get a leak down test and get the injectors checked and go from there. Going in to see Simpsons on the 13 july 2010. Hope its not the head gasket that would p!ss me right off! Edit Just read this from Turner Motorsports! http://www.turnermotorsport.com/html...ID=16142229684 Looks like it could be the fuel pump? How do I check if it's failed? Pleasing solutions only! When my HG went I had a few syptoms and this was one
BUT also had dodgy coilpacks and some injectors that were not running efficiently, all sorted together and went away!

I think when you reach to 100k km, replacing coil packs and injectors is a MUST.

Already done coil packs a while ago replaced all 6 with the bosch ones, will get the injectors cleaned as well. Any one know where to get this done?
Have been researching this fuel pump problem and apparently it is very common on the M3 and e46 basically car is not smooth, hesitates at low rpm and possibly does not start or cuts out when idleing. Which is what mine has started doing. These symptoms are even worse when the car is cold. Apparently replacing the fuel filter at the same time is a good idea as well. |

My car has a bit of a flat spot/hiccup between 2-3K RPM if you're in the wrong gear. My previous non-CSL E46 M3 was the pretty much the same, so I've always assumed it was a feature...
