I've been to this a couple of times now, we usually make a weekend of it stopping halfway down for a night on the tiles in L'Pool or Manchester!
It usually good craic and the times I've been the weather has been brilliant. There's some nice stuff on display and some really shady stuff to boot, if you're going you'll know what I mean. Say Hello to the Scottish contingency if you speak to any of them. Gary Morgans E30 Sport Evo has to be the cleanest on the planet, its an awesome machine. Slow, but awesome! lol |

A great day! Going to the BMW Festival, nice ride down with the sun shinning. Bit unhappy being escorted to the field for parking, but didnt take long before we sneaked our way in. Saw some interesting cars inc some lovely E30s thats im loving at the moment and a BMW that did 1 millions miles. It was left on the treadmill doing 85mph for 4 years and then BMW dissected & inspected the engine. Saw a number of CSLs. One that was absolutely mint in the concours done 10k and wasn't a blemish on it! And I mean Mint! Made me sick! Look out cosmicboy, you've got competition out there. I asked him if he tracks and he replied. No way! I have 2 CSLs one for show and one for abusing with a cage and stripped. Interesting he said he would never touch any other suspension other than Intrax and had a SS Race lightweight and SS middle section that he said suit each other perfectly keeping the standard cat.
Then I signed up for the 3 lap on the top secret Land Rover and Jaguar track. Strickly 70mph following a police car and E92 M safety car. That didn't take long for people to break! Then shortly after we headed home and I ended up missing the junction signposted HOME. So ended up headed into London and went for a quick drink and got talking to this chap for over 2 hours with a fleet of over 25 cars inc 7 ferraris, 997 GT3RS, Turbo, CGT, Renault Espace. One of which his Enzo was around the corner, that had the power steering fluid leaking and was waiting for recovery. He took us to the beast and ended up getting a few snaps and got to start the V12 with straight pipes as he complained to Maranello it wasn't loud enough. And it was loud!! Some old resident got the right ass and called the police! What a great day! Last edited by karbonkid; 16-08-2009 at 11:00 PM. |

I had a throughly enjoyable day yesterday at Gaydon. Left home at 6am and was in Gaydon by 8.30, decided to enter the car into show and shine. Prepped the CSL and left it parked up next to my mates E30 M3 . Having never entered a show and shine comp before, I noticed so many people consistently cleaning their car (couldn't be bothered) so trotted off to have a look round.
I would like to thank Thorney (Richard) for having a quick look at my car, after cleaning it a couple of light came on the dash. Richard checked it and diagnosed the problem, the car will be sorted out this week. I think Thorney were surprissed to see how clean my car was I pulled up and someone went OMG a Garage queen then I lifted the bonnet. A nice end to a great day, eventually arrived home shattered at 6pm. |
