Cool FIRE Extinguisher in the CSL..

Got a question for you guys..

Is is it possible to install a fire extinguisher in the CSL, either in front of the driver's seat (standard seat) or in the boot without drilling or changing the car?

I will appreciate any photos..

I was thinking for one of this:

i think i might let her burn rather than try to put the fire out whilst reaching for a fixed hand held extinguisher!

see too many times on building sites where people try to put fires out only to get themselves in worse positions. Biggest help is probabaly for other cars on fire, as you can stop if first there and squirt them

Surely it would be best if you're gonna fit one to do it properly so it can fill the car footwells with extinguishant and help save your life. At least then you can get out first ..............

It only required drilling 2x holes in the aluminum mounting bracket and floor bulge, hidden under the seat. The thread is then created with a tap then allen screws and washers in place to fasten. It weighs 3.35KG full and can be linked up with hoses and nozzles if wanted. Easy and neat Job done.

I've installed one in my boot, only a 2Kg Powder one though. I've no photos at the moment but will get some uploaded when I get home.

I just bolted it to the carpet area above and forward of the 1st Aid Kit on the left hand side of the boot, with some decent sized penny washers. When I remove it, you won't even know it had been there. Or, I could just replace that piece of carpet, its strong enough to hold the extinguisher no bother.

What good is it in the boot though? If the car is on fire how are you going to open the boot? Reach down and find the button only to find that the loom is on fire and it doesn't work? Needs to be in reach from the drivers seat or don't bother IMO.

I hear where you're coming from Nathan, too true. However, the fire could be under the bonnet, inside the cabin, in the boot (Seen this happen with a dodgy 'Ice Install') anywhere really.

Understandably the most obvious place is the wiring loom, or under the bonnet. I put mine in the boot as I wasn't too fussed on anyone seeing it.
