Default BMW Warranty - whats covered?

Hi all,

Currently own an M2 Comp but considering a CSL... can anyone confirm if the following is covered by a BMW warranty - I'm trying to work out if it's worth the extra?
SMG Pump - I assume it would be?
Vanos - Again I assume it would?
SMG Clutch - ?
Rear Sub - frame cracking?

Any advice or experience greatly appreciated!

Sorry, can't help. Not had warranty since 2006.
Only advise I can suggest is to get a prospective purchase checked by someone who knows what they are looking at

All really down to the dealership you are using but it was getting harder to get things through over the past few years.

Vanos - Again I assume it would? YES
SMG Clutch - ? Depending on type of fault
Rear Sub - frame cracking? NO

Any advice or experience greatly appreciated!

rstoughy thanks so much for the response. It’s the subframe that I’m most concerned about as if by some miracle it hasn’t been required I would need to budget to have it reinforced from what many people have put on this forum. At least I can go into this with my eyes open.

Just my opinion,, I can’t imagine any insurance covering boot floor etc now,,with a new policy,, all good if they will ,, Old cars, these problems to be expected now,, £10,000 should sort these issues, same for std m3, way cheaper if you can do the work yourself if it’s just the subframe that the main worry, if it’s just just a few small cracks plates will be ok ,, Ive just plated a m3 myself,, basically cost me less than £200,Using reddish plates, but as above expensive if you want complete new floor new smg pump etc ,, really a good idea to properly check these cars over now. If seller won’t allow walk away

RACP at Redish would set you back about £1500, the largely acknowledged Nirvana of subframe repairs

Factor this into your purchase and your'e covered.

I'm hearing good things about weldtech in Bristol, used to work for James at Redish and set up on his own, if you're not a brand snob look him up.

Thanks everyone for your advice and thoughts. I went ahead and bought the car knowing largely thanks to you, what I might have to pay out for in the future.
Cheers
