Default Drivers Seat - Sponge Replacement

I’ve had a search on the forum and googled it also so thought I would ask for you guys to see what you had done.

My drivers side seat base sponge isn’t in bad condition but could do with being replaced ideally as the cloth cover has a small amount of creasing on it. I’ve seen various ways of dealing with this, using steam to bring life back into the sponge and then just replacing the sponge.

Has anyone any experience they can pass on with the above?

Ideally if I have to go down this route I’d like to buy the sponge myself and then make the pad from that, has anyone tried this before?

Thanks for any feedback.

It’s best practice to replace the sponge, the old sponge will eventually turn to dust.
