CSL Cup brakes finally here
Well, after a lot of hard work and more than a few rumours about these we can now announce them, the new CSL Cup brake kit by TMS/Alcon.
First off there is nothing wrong with the AP's we will still stock and sell these but the fact had emerged that the AP's still weren't able to deal with track work with 100% record. However we needed something that not only would cope with every possible road/track eventuality without having issues with brake pad deposit/warped disks that we are seeing more and more frequently. Full details of the kits can be found here: http://www.thorneymotorsport.co.uk/p...d2f8cd480adfb9 These kits have also been specifically designed to cater for the CSL Cup, the road versions are identical (but with road seals) so they really are another level. |

Nice!
Could you have Alcon stickers on the calipers if you wanted? |

When you say the fronts are 'full floating' and the rears 'semi floating', can you elaborate on this?
Also, are the fronts/rears silent in operation? When Alcon did the upgraded brake package for the GT3, the discs are mounted on spring loaded shims against the bell. This keeps the discs silent and keeps them from rattling in road use. Is the CSL Cup version the same? When it comes time replace the discs, what is the price on just the discs f/r? (assuming you don't need to replace the bells) |
