I've known him for 9 years, drifts with the best of them and can drive a csl quicker than most.

I have been put off NJ by things that I have read on the internet, both on here and in other places. No idea if there is any truth in them or not, but just the fact that they are there was enough. When I was looking I dismissed one car in particular simply because it was one he was selling, opting instead for a car from Bartlett. Buy the seller and all that.

He's a great guy to go out with, doesn't do any favours for himself sometimes but seems to do well, and he can drive

I didn't say he shouldn't make a profit, nor do I have any problem with him or anyone else making a profit from selling cars. I just said that in the current market you can probably sell for the same money yourself. Anyone that's been to Nick's place, which I have when I bought my first CSL, will know that he doesn't have a garage and is selling from a normal house on a normal road.
The reason Hexagon, Munich Legends and so on can ask a higher price is because of their impressive dealer premises, their good reputations and the reassurance you get when visiting i.e. they actually add something to the buying experience.

The driving ability of the seller doesn't really matter to me when buying a car, unless they're some moron thrashing it on a test drive.

I agree, I would rather buy off here than from NJ. I viewed a car at his, was just like dealing with a private punter, plus it was not well presented at all

I suspect he makes his money by buying cheap on some whilst getting more traffic to his ads and site that most of the Joe public would. Whether SOR or a purchase he gets his hands on plenty!

I think things have got a little off track.

My original post was in response to the suggestion that average csl prices were heading for £70K

I'd merely used NJ's recent sale of £56K and Billy's sale of circa £50K to suggest it had not yet achieved that value.

I think they were suggesting that £70k was an "AVERAGE" based on the few at over £90k and a few at £50k, meaning a mean average of £70k.....

Those are not exactly the attributes that make a good car reseller and as for doing well... I'd agree with that if NJ sold his cars from an appropriate Showroom Unit instead of a domestic drive way open to the element.
