Roof re-lacquer?
Morning Cecil abusers...
Has anyone had their roof re-lacquered? If so who did you use and any good? I've got a couple of stone chips in mine which are doing my head in, I'd quite like to get the roof re done at some point soon really. Obviously, worried as it's quite a job so wouldn't mind using someone who's done it before. |

Has water got into the chips?
If not you may be better off getting paint film on it, I had a couple of chips but no water damage so I got them touched in and had it clear paint filmed... |

I am hunting high and low for someone to do mine. I have a light milky patch from reaction to tape holding on my Vbox GPS Ariel.
My concern with Lacquer is that it might not have the same depth as the original coating. If roofs were available then fair enough id give it a go but in the current situation of a big fat 0 being available I don't see it as worth the risk. |

It looks like that milky patch is on the surface rather than under it, have you tried polishing it at all?

I think the only option then is to have it rubbed down and re-lacquered :-(

For stone chips can't you spot it with lacquer and rub down and polish in?

I had mine done a few months ago. Full rub down and re laquor, due to a few chips. The only thing is, it takes a good few coatings of laquor, as the carbon fibre absorbs alot of it. I'm toying with the idea of putting paint protection film on the roof too. I used a body shop based in Charlton Se London. Did a fantastic job, and they also restored my E30 M3 back in the day.

Picked up a roof chip @ the ring in 2013
meant to get it done ever since Now consider it my lucky chip having returned to the ring numerous times without event. As Mark has already said, any reputable bodyshop will relacquer roof, straightforward job. |
