Noise ? As the intrax isn't too harsh. Hmm when are you out next? I would love to get a passenger ride..

You need to keep the revs up (around 90mph does it ).

Nordschleife, there's only two barriers to worry about - the ones on the left and the ones on the right .

CSL number 044

I couldn't agree with your last post more, Okey.

I'm now 3 years away from the CSL I owned and used as a daily driver and the car is as large in my memory as it was the day I watched Jon drive it away up my drive. I also did 8 years behind the wheel of a Sport Evo E30, also as an every day car and the two were worlds apart. The E30 was much easier to drive in fact, as it was way less intoxicating and generally less dangerous.

The E46 CSL is a very, very special car that gets under the skin rather like a hypodermic and injects its nasty potion and you're hooked - job done. People do regard them very differently from the outside and then when/if they get the chance to live with one for a while they really get what it is all about.

For what it's worth, I run a little Boxster now as a cheapish everyday car that is fun and pure to drive. I lucked into a dealer day at Porsche the other day and drove a 911 GTS Cab and a Targa, both with less than 5,000 miles and both epic cars. Neither was half the adrenaline rush that driving the CSL delivered every day that I owned it. OK, they are PDK, which is about a thousand years more sophisticated than the problematic (for every day traffic infested driving) SMG, but neither was a patch on the CSL. Both those cars were up for over £100K as used cars with their spec, so there is another perspective.

All I would say to Okey is to be really, really sure that he wants to sell it before he lets someone give him a stack of boring money and drive his pride and joy away, as there is no going back

Arghhh tell me about it.. Yes. It's a special car. What other car at that price with alcantara and carbon fibre with parts designed by the motorsports division exist at the price ??
None..
Worlds best kept secret. And its a special drive.
I was looking at a 1M and I could see the attraction but there are no clever trick bits on it... Cayman gt4 at 90k ??
It will be tricky to replace at 40k so going to forget that and start looking at special keepers over 100k.. Have a feeling I need another 50k on top of that.. Scarry

Down.....Down.....Down, going down.

Yeah, thanks Jon. I always knew there was something I didn't quite like about you (). I was only trying to save the lad a whole lot of heartache, but it seems he's gone and done it now in any case - poor fool.

I'm glad to see that you're still enjoying the car in the manner it was meant to be. Take care all.
