The good news is, after an extensive 2.5 hours of AUC pre sale inspection @ Bartlett Automotive my CSL has been pronounced fighting fit and was described as "MINT" by Damian himself who carried out the inspection with only a few minor items that need addressing, as listed below:

- Main car battery is getting old and is slightly under performing @ 75% and just under 12V on the discharge cycle.
While my CSL always starts on the button and I've had no tale tale signs of this, it is the Genuine BMW battery which is about 8 years old now so it has lasted well beyond it's recommended life span, mainly due to the storage nature of my car (always garaged) and the fact it's hooked up to a C-Tech battery conditioned every winter.
New BOSCH 70Ah battery has already been ordered

- The emergency tyre sealant gunk is out of date.
It looks like the original 2003 item, but aren't they all I've not used the original emergency kit ever as I have a better solution... HOLTS tyreweld (already in the car) as it's a better product due to its water based solution which washes out easily before tyre repair so you don't get turned away from many tyre repairers due to the otherwise messy nature of the other solvent based puncture repair stuff, such as the BMW gunk.

- Passenger side front door/window seal just starting to de-laminate.
A common E46 Coupe problem but inexpensive to resolve as these can be repaired (instead of replaced @ £250 per side) with contact adhesive.
A small job for today

Believe it or not these were the only stand out issues which came up after the extensive inspection so don't just take my word for it when I say my CSL is in exceptional condition

I must extend my THANX to Damian & Natalie for their utter professionalism (as always), totally unbiased approach to the inspection (which can sometimes be difficult to achieve amicably when you have an existing customer as well as potential new owner/customer right there on the day waiting) and for that personal touch which you just don't get at the main dealers. Thank You guys

I would highly recommend their AUC pre sale inspection to anyone who's seriously thinking of buying or selling their CSL as it offers not only great peace of mind for the potential new owner but reassurance for the existing owner they are selling their precious CSL in the best possible condition.

As for the potential new custodial I won't go into great detail but lets just say we are mid negotiations for now and next few days should be interesting

Can I ask why the guy didn't purchase after the inspection and approval at Bartletts Matt?
