This is my car !!

Was a member of Mtorque back in the day before it got shut down.

I remember finding that speeding article when I bought it. Basically, first owner was some rich rude in Scotland (who basically got off even though they caught him doing 150mph on the phone as well!). I bought it off a guy from Mtorque who only had it for probably around 6 months, and I've had it for 7 years (3 owners including me)

I still remember the day when I bought it. Me and my mate got a one way flight from Heathrow to Aberdeen and I bought it without having seen/driven it previously. God knows what we would have done if it turned out to be a pile of crap. However, I did speak to the BMW dealer who serviced it whilst the first owner had it (for 3 years) and just remember the chap I spoke to telling me not to worry as he was a regular customer and it had been looked after very well and because the second owner bought it from them it still had 6months warranty, so I basically just went with my gut feel. Anyway, I bought the car (with around 16k on the clock) and the first drive was on a beautiful sunny day from the highlands in Scotland down some glorious roads back down to the south of england. Took 8 hours in total but the roads in Scotland have to be the best I've ever been on (smooth, cracking views and completely empty )

Ever since that day, I've never wanted another car (normally change them every 2 years and my car prior to the CSL was a UK spec Evo Tommi Mak edition, another classic) . Even now I'm struggling to sell it. The only reason is I cant get the bloody baby seat in the back due to the fixed back seats. If anyone knows a good way for my wife to easily get a 3 month old baby in and out of the back then let me know! We've got another car but I don't want to make the CSL my daily driver so I thought it was time to pass on the baton to someone else.

Car still has BMW extended warranty (no excess). I must say BMW High Wycombe have been great with the warranty over the past 7 years, no quibbles at all, if it looks like there is something wrong with it, we'll just replace it e.g. there was some water leaking through the front headlight unit which was an easy fix but they just replaced both xenon headlamps with two new complete units! Sir, it looks like your steering wheel is looking a bit furry, so we've replaced it with a new one. The sub frame has been just checked by BMW (no cracks) and they have sent me a video which shows them carrying out their check.

Any questions let me know...

harros - in 5 months your baby will be in a stage 1 seat. Go for the Recaro Young sport. I've used one in mine and it fits great. I've got a seat protector fitted underneath to protect the easily scratched seats .

Hmmmm, that's useful to know, thanks. I'm really struggling to let go of it (bit odd for me as never really got sentimental about a car before). Even the wife said I can keep it after glancing at my soppy post

I hadn't actually even advertised the car and it feels like things are going a bit too quick.

Will probably spend the weekend to have a long hard think about it.

At one point I was juggling two baby seats in the back (16 month age gap between them) - it is hard work and I recall having to slide a baby seat in at a sideways angle (which horrified the mother in law). And if there was the two of us, I would get in first in between the two seats he would pass them through and I would put them in and then vice versa to get out. Before I knew it they were in forward facing seats and it got much easier.

Was worth it as both my kids (now 5 & 6) adore the csl

Thanks all, had a think over the weekend and have decided to keep the CSL

Agreed to get the wife an X5 or A6 (certainly not having any baby seat scratch the interior !)

Sorted.
