This might sound a little crazy, but from what I've seen of the thread in the US with guys converting their cars into full CSL engine management, airbox, MAP sensors ect ... you don't actually need the CSL cams to make CSL power - in fact with a good tune I've seen the standard M3 cams make more power than the CSL.
There's enough adjustment in the Vanos to take into account of slightly less duration of the standard M3 cams, you are simply moving the torque curve that's all ... overall power it'll still be the same as the lifts in both cams are the same (in fact I actually believe the M3 cams are ever so slightly higher than the CSL in lift when measured). |
