Default Car in for boot floor repair

Well guys my car is at Bluebell wilmslow repair body shop having the goodwill boot floor repair... As the crack is tiny it is having the resin injection which I was a bit unsure about at first however it appears it was either this or nothing..
The problem is the temptation to get other little bodywork issues sorted at the same time is proving to be expensive lol... So far I've asked for the carbon roof to be re-lacquered as it had a couple of marks.. The front splitters are being re-lacquered(all at a very fair price surprisingly). Gonna get a price tomorrow for a front nose paint to get rid of the stone chips... It really is a slippery slope with these cars ain't it.

I can't see how it will stop it cracking more, I think I would have paid for a weld job, IMO

Yeah, if it's in under the 10year goodwill why isn't it having the whole lot replaced? If it's cracked then it's cracked, doesn't matter by how much

The resin just fills the void, once it's split it will keep splitting no matter what the void has in it.

There is a measurement that BMW look at in the service bulletin. I dont recall it off the top of my head, but if the crack measures under their setpoint, it's just the resin injection. If it's over, they replace the section of boot floor.

Aha, thanks James. Doesn't sound like the best of approaches from our favourite car manufacturer though, but I'm sure they know best

As it is cracked did you have the extra plating done, mine only had the resin done as there was no cracks.
