Default Z3 M Roadster Info and Parts

Evening guys,

Thinking of taking on a wee project of taking on a fire damaged Z3 M Roadster in Estoril.

We bought the car (Family) in 2001, 1998 on an S plate with about 4k miles on it. Small fire in the dash behind the glovebox, hardly really damaged the dashboard but stained the windscreen so once I pull the dash out, I'd say it'd need replacing. Of course, the wiring too.

I have no photos or anything at present and the car has been stored away best part of 10 years so I'm excited (and worried) to be digging it out next leave and bringing it to Northern Ireland.

Anyone any good pointers with regards to parts, manuals, forums etc. I'm looking forward to getting stuck into it and maybe changing a few things after I've got it roadworthy again.

Cheers in advance,
Barry

One of the lads here in Dublin as a lovely Z3MC and knows them pretty well. He's on here occasionally (user DUBU), so might be worth dropping him a PM about it as I'm sure he'll have some info regarding setting it up correctly and sourcing parts, etc.

Lovely little things those, had an Imola red one ( one that had 3 secs of fame on TG )

Alex has one still I think, so will be able to shed some light I'm sure.

As Goeff said, my mate has a stunning coupe example, and has it very well set up but still retaining the OE look to a degree.. Let me know what exactly your looking for.. Pull out the soft roof, half cage and hard roof

Hi Barry,

Congrats on the new car. They are real fun and IMO, future classics. I happen to own a Z3 M Coupé. It is actually my second one and I did semi restorations on both of them so I could say I know them pretty well. Although I must admit I never had to deal with fire damage or anything similar. For anything else here are my two restoration threads on a different forum.

My first Dakar yellow car ;

Z3M Semi - Restoration

And my second and current Silver Z3 M Coupé ;

Silver M Coupé resto

For further info and vast of knowledge, you can search though www.z3mcoupe.com It is mainly coupe based but problems and maintenance is almost identical to roadsters.

Cheers for the contacts/links etc.

I'll be sure to take loads of photos of the progress although since most of it is wiring and interior stuff, it might be a bit boring.

Hope the car is immaculate, it was when we put it away so no reason anything will have changed. The next few weeks on board can't pass quick enough now,

Cheers again, plenty reading to be done.
