Hi I'm Paul....very new to forums, so play nice & be kind I'll probably make some blunders or trip up on the etiquette front
I have always liked the E46 M3 & always take the time to admire when ever I see one.....have thought about getting one for ages as you do, together with all the other cars on my 'Bucket List'
Started to read more & more about the rare yet legendary CSL & became addicted....joined the forum at the end of last year & have been mooching about incognito soaking up the wealth of info./enthusiasm & at times being scared by some of the problems/horror stories....didn't really know if this was a passing fad or would lead somewhere?
Well!....cars are quite a common discussion topic in my house & for ages we discussed/debated/argued that our cars were becoming too similar in so many ways & the driving experience removed/numb, so we decided that we needed special & distinctive cars, which would offer very different visual & driving experiences....most of our subsequent discussion was not about the concept, as this was easy to accept, but as to which cars would end up on this very privileged/ambiguous list....needless to say we could not agree upon the cars, but you've got to start somewhere otherwise you'll spectate/discuss for ever without actually doing anything or I would anyway!
Started by looking through the ads....found a great, wait for it, BMW not M3 but Mini Cooper S JCW GP 2006 with 11300 miles & purchased it....haven't driven it much yet, but what a great little car full of character, supercharger, special bits & it's rare
If you've bothered to read this far, thanks....you'll be pleased to hear there is some relevance to this forum after all!....I've purchased a CSL & pick it up tomorrow, how great is that!....a dream becomes reality & I can't believe it's going to happen & before anyone asks it's one of the faster rare black ones!....only a joke I really like the grey ones, but this one came along at the right time....I think I'm excited & daunted in equal proportions
I live in West Wickham, which is North Kent/South London between Bromley & Croydon....does anyone else live near?
Well that's enough waffle about me, let's hear from the rest of you lucky CSL owners & I very much look forward to meeting some of you soon
congratulations!!!

You will probably hate the clunkiness of the SMG initially. After that, you will love it after using super smooth dual clutches which remove from the experience imo. I think the CSL ages very nicely like a great Bordeaux (dun worry I know sh$t about wines ). Also, if you are heading out for a blast and don't want the slur, disconnect the battery for the night and hook her up before setting off. I've been pussy footing her on my last 2 drives and she is slurring like a slut now.

Wish my mrs would discuss car things. I sell her by only putting up lovely ads for car prior to purchase. She always asks, how much?, I like the lights/hate the lights , is it comfortable? Atleast now after some training she knows a thing or two about the major brands.

Did you get Marks one?
