I think i put my message across wrong. I dont lift off the pedal in any setting S1 or S6 but i would never flat shift in S1-S4 as the clutch seems to then slip!

It's basically just a pile of shit and should have been fixed by BMW five years ago!

It'll do that Simon. You need to keep it planted so the car learns you want it that way. It will slip for a bit to start with (and I know its not easy to make yourself do it) but its what needs to be done to get them nice a crisp.

After Knockhill, S1 changed sharper than S6 did with road driving

Ive found if Ive just had the car in and out of the garage a few times, but never driven it, it reverts back to being slippy.

Just reread this thread, what's not clear is how do you check for clutch wear?

On the flat shift thing, the hand book says keep the throttle flat on changes....

Wrong place I know but has anyone used Jepsons - Swindon for wheel refurb?
