Bought my first CSL yesterday, picking up soon, my only other M car was E34 M5 but this is my 8th BMW after flirting with Merc, Porsche and my other fave car - mk1 Escorts!

Hope you don't mind me asking, but would you buy another E34 M5? How did you find owning it? 3.6 or 3.8? |

Owning was great except for dual mass flywheel and clutch replacement, £1,400. It pulled really well with variable cam lift at 4,700 revs. It felt really special as well because the E34 was the last of the hand built M cars. The alacantra seats were v comfy. Only 343 RHD were built. The last 50 had EDC suspension and 6 speed gearbox. At today's standards, it doesn't feel super fast but as a fun to drive comfortable car with kudos it's up there... Would I buy again? maybe, if I had a bigger garage! A good example will increase in value as they are rare and hand built. |
