You'd better buy Cups and do two less trackdays a year tbh, you'll get more out of the days that way

I have not used RSR but have seen them first hand. On Mx5 mk 3 they were ok but sidewall a little soft.
On an e36 they were (according to the driver) quieter than R888 but went off faster. Therefore my guess is if you are driving at any real pace they will turn to cheese after 3 Laps especially with your 400bhp

Hi,
Colleague ran Fed RSR's on an E36 with S54 engine at Coombe last year and said they were useable for the first two sessions, morning, but by early afternoon they had gone. When they were inspected there were clear signs of delamination where the side wall meets the Tread block, the vulcanisation was breaking away, it was almost like the softer side wall was tearing away from the tread belt. He had used them because he was using the Track day to dial in some new AST Comp Coilovers and conceeded that he had made a costly mistake, in that the afternoon was all but lost, and the tyres did not even last the day. His car is 1130 Kg's without driver. Most of the Budget type 'R' Track tyres suffer similar problems even more so when used on cars weighing in at over 1100/1200kg's. That said even the MX5 Crowd have not been overly impressed with them, saying they are worse than slicks if it rains. Regards, The Gorilla. |
