Most of the training days I've been on are on wet and dry control, steering and braking and all well under the limits of the cars your driving. It would be good to go on one where your at the limit in the car in safe surroundings just in case it all goes wrong

My 2p's worth - the CAT driver training days are excellent. Originally did the car club day when had an elise, and have subsequently done two half days with colin at millbrook (and have a full day at brunty booked in for later in the year).

Millbrook is great if you haven't been - the high speed bowl freaks me out, the alpine road is great fun (and you can pretend you're bond) and the handling circuit looks a bit noddy when you get there but each corner is designed to test the car and driver in a different way so its really challenging to get right.

The best bit though is the quality of the training - have done track days for a while and used a range of instructors but have always learnt alot more on the CAT days. Instruction is based on understanding whats going on with the car and is not overly complicated - home-ing in on the important stuff that you're getting wrong. Colin is also a top bloke, who is good humoured and has a real passion for cars which all makes the days very good fun.

The issue of cost is an interesting one in these crunchy times. I personnally don't see the point of having a car like the CSL for just the road - you can't use it anywhere bear its full potential (in safety while maintaining you license) and its too compromised IMO (hard ride, seats, lack of creature comforts). Then it comes down to relative cost vs other track days/ training/mods - in my opinion its good value for money.

Looking through dates, it's quite a busy schedule what with Ring trips and the CSL cup etc

Im leaning towards the 14th June, will be speaking with CAT shortly

After having a quick chat with Jo this afternoon, the 14th may not be feasible as Milbrook are hosting a large event there on the 15th & 16th and may possibly be setting up on this day!

Looking through the register, events are quite busy throughout the calendar with CSL cup dates & SPA etc

Unfortunately Milbrook has been closed by the snowfall this weekend so Jo couldnt give us an answer on dates available. However she confirmed that CAT are available to work on any day of the week, so even a midweek slot could be arranged possibly cheaper too (unconfirmed)

I will be receiving an email hopefuly soon regarding dates for which CAT can use Milbrook and I will pass these on so we can decide whats best to go with
