I was struggling with the same problem as the initial poster and half settled it with the purchase of a GT3. I did want to get the RS but could not justify the additional £15-20k for the RS. I of course could not bear to part with the CSL so am fortunate enough at the moment to keep both.
Both are similar cars but again poles apart. Of course the CSL has all the space ie four seats and a large boot but the GT3 has bags more power (in a straight line at least) and feels in some respect more planted but at the same time a bit skittish at speed. I like the fact that they are both smallish cars and here I refer to the e92 M3/GTR sized vehicles (behemoths in comparison). The bucket seats are a lot more efficient in the GT3 (and six point harness). It is a shame BMW did not put more effort in here. As far as running costs go I will have to wait on that but having had two GT3 condensors replaced under warranty (~ £1,000) I can imagine the costs will be higher. The CSL has just been servicing and tyres so far oh and the rear box bracket repair. Anyway enough waffle from me. I just thought I would chip in. I too may well be over to the DN Nordschleife/Spa 20th and 21st March so may see the other poster whose name I forget, over there. Pip |

Agreed. The seats in the E30 M3 are better, but they wanted to replica the spartan Scheel seat of the E9 CSL. Those seats did not even have a headrest AFAIK. |

AMG's are great as my friends said the most comfortable fast car to be in around the ring but lack in many areas for me,CSL the b-----k's and i will never part with but the porsche is an itch that needs attention at some point but only in addition! The GTR is great but i can't afford the rice.
