Default Disc Skimming

Hi All

I need to get my PF discs skimmed, if anyone has any recommendations for companies who can do this then I would appreciate details.

Many Thanks
Nick

Dont bother. I have been down this road before and it doesn’t work.

Save yourself the cost and time and just buy a new set.

sorry to be so blunt but i wish someone had said it to me at the time

Do your discs have pad prints on them causing a vibration ?

Ive has the front discs on my CSL re-faced as there were pad prints causing vibrations. I suppose if you can find someone that will do it properly and do a good job then its worth it, ive done 3000 miles with perfect brakes since I had them done by Gareth.

Hi Guys

Thanks for the comments.

So the story goes that the guy who fitted the discs put them on the wrong way round. I also didn't change the pads to new ones when I put the new discs on which in hindsight was a mistake. So by the time I was told the discs had been fitted incorrectly I had been to Le Mans and back.

I have had the discs swapped round but after running them for a few months on my existing RS14's, I still have a wobble when braking. I would feel pain binning them as they are literally brand new hence the reason I thought I would try getting them skimmed as I would imagine the heat build up from them being fitted incorrectly may have taken them past the point where simply fitting new pads will sort the job and clean them up.

Cheers
Nick
