Spa video October 2012
So here is a couple of videos.
First video is from the second day, Wednesday 10th. it is a 2m 50.7s lap but you'll notice that at Blanchimont I get stopped up by an E46 M3 as I exit. Was hoping he'd move but I came up a bit quick. At that speed I didn't want to yank the wheel left and risk a spin. This lap was dead level at this point with my quicker lap the day before so this was heading for a low 2m 49s The second video was of my fastest lap, which happened to be on the Tuesday afternoon. Here it is with a 2m 49.3s

Looks like me slowing you up, sorry. I was on a cooldown there, honest!
Your line through rivage is different to what I have been doing. I'll give that a try next time. Last edited by uncle benz; 12-10-2012 at 08:39 AM. |

Rivage is an interesting one, I'm sure SY would take that line as he seems to take loads of corners short. Maxx showed me the line, racers use it to stop undertakes but also because you save probably 6-8 metres at slow speed. Maxx proved that 60/70% of the corner you o no slower than the longer line and you don't really have any acceleration as the distance to "the corner with no name" is so short. Also it terrifies the car in front seeing you brake into their door card.

Cracking lap. That was a 2.49 without the traffic.
Lucky to get a day like that it October! I've cleaned and retired the car until next year and watching that is doing me no good! Maybe I could do one more TD |

I think gains at Eau Rouge (0.5s) and Pouhon (0.5s) are easy, plus other bots meaning You should be in he 2m47s band SY, maybe even 2m46-47s. I'd want a cage!

2m47s! im not so sure Shim, your 2m49 looked quick! that was my aim for next year sub 2m50. Like you said without a cage your really putting your cock on the block to push any harder

I said to you earlier in the year that a 2.47 was easilly doable.
Cage and Slicks its a walk in the park mate. My best lap at Spa had loads of holdups and was 2.52 dead and was like a sunday drive. How much was down to slicks or the cage? But the cage did make a noticeable difference to the feel of the car. Who knows? I just know it was effortless doing that pace. Great times Shimmy. Ill have to get back in an M in a yr or so and hunt you down |
