Alcon rotors gone, any idea for help?
I got Alcons last year and was happy with them till the last Ring visit. We found that pads were almost new on top but almost gone on the bottom side and what more after pads change the steering shakes like mad when braking and we found the front rotors are gone. Yes after 10kkm
I askes Thorney for new set but they say 8 weeks lead time. 8 weeks now in April? (( any idea? Should i try to find the Alcons faster or change to something else?? |

when did you last bleed the brakes?
and why are the discs 'gone' because of the juddering? or thickness?

I have had this before with my APs - it happened because the 2 calliper bolts were not tightened equally by the garage that fitted them. I replaced the pads and torqued the bolts equally and the problem has never happened since.

I would chage the discs too as there will have been uneven wear here too.

the juddering could be pad deposits, which can be removed by spirited riving with new pads, or by getting your discs skimmed ( as long as you have done as glendog suggests and check the bolts first)
