Default Clunk noise as I pull away...?

Hi Guys...

I am experiencing a light clunk noise when pulling away....what could it be? I've already upgraded the rear trailing arm bushes to Poly ones...

It sounds like it could be coming from the diff area?

Are there any common failure area's I should look at??

TIA...

It probably is the diff, I'd get it checked out but wouldn't be overly worried about it. I got a new diff under warranty and even it clunks after only a couple of thousand miles. But best get it checked out to settle the head.

Could be the diff bush itself (the front one or the rear left I think, can't recall) these go quite often.

Or worst case ripped rear floor can cause these type of noises too - pay to put the car up on the hoist to check.

The other possibility is the driveshaft rear bearing joint (the one connecting to the diff directly - check if there's excessive play.

If it's not the driveshaft, CV joints on the half shafts could cause this noise also - common failures.

Hi guys...

Thank you for all the input...!

Had the car out at my (Ex BMW) mechanic...he's baffled about it as well...the cars not torn anywhere as is common, and all the bushes and mounts seems fine?

I guess I need to get the driveline checked...

Would an oil change in the diff help at all??

Thanks again...
